A degree in Computer Science studies the “science” aspect of computers.
We offer computer degrees with specialty focuses:
Cybersecurity and Networking is a degree that provides students with the opportunity to dig deep into cybersecurity and cyberattacks using simulations and tools found in the workplace to understand not just how security attacks happen, but how to prevent them.
Software Development is for students who are interested in programming and coding. This is a comprehensive degree for students who are interested in developing SAAS software, internet-related software (such as web design or e-tools), gaming software, or apps.
At the Fisher School of Technology, we believe that the inclusion of all individuals, including women and those from underrepresented populations in STEM, is critical for the continued growth and success of the IT field.
Look at it this way, technology corporations of the future are looking for new and innovative ideas that work for everyone. Without the input of technology-focused women in leadership roles, the development of products we use every day falls short of meeting the needs of the women who use them.
“What many people don’t understand is that computing is the foundation of just about every other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline,” said Lanham. At Hodges University, the Fisher School of Technology offers degrees that help students develop the skills needed to make a positive impact in the technology sectors of our business community.
It has been shown that girls do not pursue technology careers at the same rate as their male counterparts because they are not exposed to computer hardware, software, and coding at a young enough age to pursue computer information technology degrees. Instead of coming into the college environment with similar knowledge as their counterparts, women feel behind and end up abandoning what could be an excellent career pathway.
Our BS in Cybersecurity and Networking is delivered with an interactive, hands-on methodology (using actual tools found in the work environment) for leveraging network solutions, and cyber detection and prevention that may provide you with needed skills starting on day one.
Our BS in Software Development may prepare you to design something great. Whether you’re interested in creating software, web-based development, or the gaming world – we’ve got you covered.
If you are looking to study computer-related degrees, you probably want to know why you should attend Hodges U. Our programs are uniquely designed to ready you to deliver results on complex, IT-related projects.
