Graduate certificates are for those who already hold at least a Bachelor’s degree but want graduate-level coursework in the same or another specialization. Often, those who hold graduate degrees will take advantage of these programs to add graduate semester hours (typically 18) to obtain the academic achievement needed to teach college-level courses.
These programs also attract those currently pursuing a graduate degree who wish to specialize in a concentration (typically 9 graduate semester hours) or require additional hours to reach the 18 credit hours needed to complete a Master’s Degree. For example, an MBA graduate whose curriculum was in general business but whose interests and/or employment include Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination or Cybersecurity, could take the certificate as an “add-on” to their master’s degree and meet the typical minimum qualification to teach in that selected discipline.
Lastly, Grad certificates can be taken as stand-alone credentials for advancement in one’s career or to provide a vehicle for skills and knowledge updating.
Undergraduate certificates are intended for those enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program who wish to concentrate elective choices in a given area. These programs allow undergrad students to earn additional credentials, giving them a competitive edge in their field of study.
Hodges University’s curriculum covers a wide range of topics and disciplines in fields such as business, computer science, and e-law. They can also be taken stand-alone, helpful for those who would like to pursue a specific area of interest without taking core curriculum courses.
If you’re looking to expand your skills, but don’t necessarily want to take an entire professional certificate program, Hodges also offers various non-credit industry-specific certifications that may be a fit.
Hodges Connect programs are intended to provide students with training in specific workforce-preparedness or advancement areas. Receive premium training in non-credit programs such as First-Line Supervisor, EMT, or CPR.
